Africa & Asia Venture (AV)-Jessica's story from Uganda

We are so very proud of how many of Africa & Asia Venture (AV) participants continue to be involved with the community in which they lived whilst with us, long after they return home. Jessica Lanyon is a great example.

After a wonderful experience living and working in Uganda with us, Jess decided she wanted to do something more for the school where she had made so many friends.

During her three months at Nambaale school near Jinja, she was acutely aware of how little sports and music equipment was available for the students so it made sense that she would focus on finding a way to give them access to more.

Jess approached ExxonMobil and the company very generously donated funds towards the purchase of the new sports and music equipment.

Thank you Jess and ExxonMobil we know this equipment is hugely appreciated by the school and its pupils.

Jessica is now studying International Development at the University of Leeds and all AV and Nambaale wish her all the best for the future.
