Azafady is an award-winning UK charity dedicated to supporting the people and ecosystems of Madagascar, one of the biologically richest but economically poorest countries in the world. At the heart of our work is an integrated approach to supporting the Malagasy people and their unique environment, built around locally expressed needs and community participation.

We offer volunteers the opportunity to get involved in our projects in Madagascar through unique and challenging volunteering programmes lasting from 2 to 10 weeks. In our award-winning 10-week Pioneer Programme groups of volunteers work on a variety of projects such as building and equipping schools, constructing wells and latrines, environmental education, and forest conservation. Azafady is launching an innovative Conservation Programme in 2010 in which volunteers can get involved in all aspects of our ongoing conservation work through five 2-week modules, which can be taken individually or combined. We also offer short-term volunteering opportunities in English teaching and community construction for 2 to 3 weeks for those with just a little time to spare.
