Yamnuska Mountain Adventures Joins Year Out Group

Year Out Group is delighted to announce that Yamnuska Mountain Adventures has recently been accepted as full 
member. Yamnuska is Canada's premier mountain school and is passionately committed to providing mountain experiences and services in a safe, sustainable and respectful manner.
Yamnuska has been a presence in the Canadian Rockies since 1977. It began as an adult wilderness programme at the Rocky Mountain YMCA's Yamnuska Centre. Programmes include backpacking, rock climbing and mountaineering. Early instructors included some stalwarts of the Rocky Mountain scene. Quickly gaining momentum, the Wilderness program left the YMCA and Yamnuska Mountain School, a non-profit society directed by Bruce Elkin, was formed and based in Bruce's basement in Canmore, Alberta. The next years saw a steady evolution, as instruction in mountaineering, rock and ice climbing became the core activity with the fall Mountain Skills Semester an annual event. By the early 80s Yamnuska was at the apex of the instructional market.
Since then the company has grown by leaps and bounds as its dedication to quality and service has resulted in more and more satisfied guests spreading the word about the great adventures they had in the Canadian Rockies and other parts of the world. In 2005 the company was re-branded Yamnuska Mountain Adventures.
Today Yamnuska is a recognised leader in the provision of high quality mountain experiences for its clients, which include individuals, groups, corporations and military organisations from all over the world, including a ten year working relationship providing adventure training programmes for the British Army
