Yamnuska receives Signature Experience honour

A Year Out Group member organisation has been recognised for the "uniquely Canadian" gap year experience it provides people taking a year out to embark on icy adventures in Canada.

Yamnuska Mountain Adventures has been recognised as a 'Signature Experience' provider by the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), for its Wapta Traverse Ski and Wapta Ice Hike trips which run in winter and summer respectively.

Len Youden, general manager of the company, commented: "Our guides and staff do what they do for a living because they are passionate about our mountain environment. This passion and enthusiasm resonates in everything we do."

He said he "couldn't be more proud" of the Yamnuska team and the unique gap year experience they provide, as recognised by the prestigious CTC honour.

Richard Oliver, chief executive of Year Out Group, said he was "delighted" that the excellence of courses offered by the gap year organisation had been acknowledged in such a meaningful way.
