People planning their gap year abroad have been told that they will experience different cultures, food and people in each region of Brazil.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, marketing manager at Journey Latin America, said that Brazil is currently getting a lot of positive media attention as it is known for its culture and stunning beaches.
"The culture in the north-east of Brazil is quite different from that in the south-east of Brazil. There's a lot of African Brazilian influence in that part of the world. Every area that you visit is very unique, extremely different - the people are different, and the food is different," she added.
Ms Rendell-Dunn also commented that Brazil is easily accessible for gap year students due to the number of airlines which serve the country.
Year Out Group has 11 founder members which arrange gap year placements in Brazil, including Cross-Cultural Solutions which specialises in orphan, school and hospital voluntary work.
