Easter period will mean busy airports for gap year travellers

Gap year travellers heading abroad over the Easter period have been advised to pre-book their seats to avoid disappointment.

A guide produced by Simonseeks, a travel specialist, said that many planes will be fully booked by people looking to get away over the holiday period, so it is "crucial" that gap year students plan ahead and save their place.

With most airlines charging for this, the guide added that if gap year travellers are unwilling to pay for this service, then it is essential that they check-in online as soon as the facility is open.

"Fully-booked flights mean busy airports. So, to make your travel as smooth as possible, and to keep costs down, it's worth booking any services you may need such as car parking or an airport hotel sooner rather than later," the guide stated.

Gap year students getting away over the Easter period received some good news today with British Airways confirming that strikes by cabin crew will take place before the holiday period starts.
