Gap year travellers will be able to get their hands on the new iPad, with the new product promising to be an excellent travel companion.
Technologically-minded gap year students who are wanting an all-in-one device for social networking, reading books, listening to music, downloading applications and emailing will be able to buy the Wi-Fi version of the product from next month.
The more expensive 3G and Wi-Fi combined version will be available for gap year students to buy in April, meaning that they still have plenty of time to budget for the gadget in their fundraising efforts.
Described as Apple's "most advanced technology in a magical and revolutionary device", the iPad will give gappers a way of getting online and keeping family members up-to-date with their adventures, while also allowing them to access a range of travel-related applications to help them get the most from their experience abroad.
