Travel gadgets negate the need for numerous cables

Two items listed as travel gadgets of the year will take away the need for gap year students to pack a plethora of chargers.

Time.com's guide recommended the Kensington Power Inverter to gappers as it can charge a number of items from the cigarette lighter of a car.

A standard power outlet on the inverter will let people plug in items such as mobile phones and laptops, while two other USB slots mean that devices like an iPod Touch or camera can be powered up.

In recommending the power inverter, the guide said that while personal electronic items are "ubiquitous and empowering", when the moment comes to charge them, gappers are reminded of their limitations as they scramble to locate different charging docks and cables.

Time.com also said that the Kingston MobileLiteG2 means that people do not have to take their camera USB cord with them on gap years abroad.

The device can read SD memory cards and then plug into a laptop, meaning that photos can be sent back home to family and friends with ease, without having to pack numerous cables.ADNFCR-2556-ID-19447524-ADNFCR
