First Sixt car hire opens up in Peru

Gap year students visiting Peru now have more choice when exploring South America after Sixt announced that it has opened its first car hire station in the country.

The international car hire firm has added to its presence in South America, which saw a facility open in Mexico in September, adding to those in gap year destinations such as Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Panama and Costa Rico.

Sixt's new service is perfect for those on an extended career break or gap year abroad as the firm is focusing predominately on long-term car rental.

Detlef Krehahn, director and vice president of the company, said: "With Peru we are opening up another South American country primarily to business clients but increasingly also to tourist visitors. We are delighted to offer an almost nationwide high-quality service at a very good price-performance ratio."

Gap year students visiting Peru might want to visit cultural attractions such as the Inca ruins, Pisac Market or the deep Colca Canyon.
