Richard Oliver

Richard Oliver was educated at Repton School and RMA Sandhurst. Commissioned into the Royal Engineers he saw regimental service in the Far East, Germany and Northern Ireland. He commanded the Berlin Infantry Brigade either side of the fall of the wall and completed his career with three senior appointments in personnel and logistics, retiring in the rank of major general. He was appointed OBE in 1985 and CB in 1999. He was appointed Year Out Group’s first chief executive in 2000 and is also chairman of Cranstoun Drugs Services.
